FINANCE AND ECONOMIC GROWTH IN THE AFTERMATH OF THE CRISIS

The Department of Economics, Management and Quantitative Methods (DEMM) of the
University of Milan and the Department of Management (DM) of the Polytechnic University of
Marche organize a 3-day International Conference with a special focus on the new role played by
finance and financial institutions on long-term economic growth. The aim of the conference, to be
held in Milan on 11-13 September 2017, is to re-examine, from different analytical and
methodological perspectives, the effects of finance on the real side of the economy, and to discuss
how finance can shape the sources of sustainable economic growth in the light of the recent global
crisis. Another theme of the conference is the analysis of what public policy should actually do in
order to achieve such objectives as a more stable financial system, a more equitable income
distribution, and a more efficient resource allocation, along with a higher rate of per-capita output
growth.
